Dan has extensive experience investing in and advising companies ranging from
start-up through IPO. He brings an operational perspective reflecting
his hands on experience working with management teams to drive growth
and operational efficiency. Prior to forming Salt Creek Capital, Dan was a General Partner at Opus Capital,
a $280M Menlo Park, CA based fund formed in 2006 where he led growth
equity and buyout efforts focusing on the middle market.
Previously, Dan was a General Partner and founding member of Duchossois Technology Partners (DTEC),
a Chicago based venture capital firm, where he led software and
networking investments. Some of the investments Dan led at DTEC include
Infoblox, Intellon (Nasdaq: ITLN), Mobilitec (acquired by Lucent),
NetNearU, NextHop (acquired by U4EA), Clarity (acquired by Cambridge
Silicon Radio) and Rubicon Genomics. DTEC is affiliated with The Duchossois Group,
a privately held organization which represents over 60 years of
entrepreneurship and the development of dozens of companies with an
aggregate value in excess of $3B.
Before
joining DTEC, Dan spent five years at the financial office of the
Pritzker Family, owners of a wide range of companies including Hyatt,
the Marmon Group and TransUnion. His
responsibilities included financial, accounting, tax and investment
structuring work on a broad range of privately held companies. Dan
began his career in the Financial Services group at Ernst & Young.
Dan
graduated with Honors from The Ohio State University with a BSBA and
holds an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is a Certified Public
Accountant. |
